Photosynth is a panorama photography app produced by Microsoft. It's got Microsoft's Photosynth engine as the operating system, stitching shots together of a targeted area, then giving you a finished product of a 360 degree view of area you snapped. The app also encourages users to add the panorama pics to Bing Maps (however don't add no pics of your bedroom, lol). So beside being a cool app, in a way it's a crowd-source motivator for Microsoft/Bing.
